Kids nowadays are just so smart! Take for example our grand nephew Damien Darus, a brilliant 4 years old smarty pants who has learned to ask very thoughtful questions!
During a recent trip back to Kuantan, we were fortunate to meet up with him who is now quite an inquisitive fellow. At the kitchen table of my sis-in-law who is his grandmother, Damien was curious about my grey beard.
He is now attending pre-school and has obviously learned about colors. He asked why was my beard gray in perfect English. When I answered that it was because I am old, he cleverly insinuated that his cousin brother Amir Rafiq was also graying! Hahahaha..
So I asked Damien as to what age he thought Amir was?
First he said, Amir was four and then reiterated that it was himself who was four. When pressed to guess Amir's age, the clever fellow went down to measure Amir's age using his cute little hands and came up with 10!
That was the maximum number that he could count! :P
He has also learned how to interject and grab my attention when I was attending to his cousin brother's endless questions.
Kids nowadays! They are just so very smart! Subhanallah!
May these boys grow up to be well educated, progressive and productive Muslims who would contribute positively to their parents, our families, the ummah, this beloved nation and to the world in general.
Ameen O Allah!
Here's a photo of us with Aina Batrisyia, Amir's younger sister. She is quite brilliant as well. Top scorer in her class. She studies at a Chinese primary school in Kemaman, Terengganu.
