May Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Allah be upon you.
Dear brothers and sisters.
I am following up with the study about the 20 Attributes of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
First and foremost, before we embark on the subject matter, it is important for us to start with discussing the human rationale.
Every human who wants to study about Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala needs to have a rational mindset and know how to differentiate between fact or fiction and as to what is right and know what is wrong?
In the study of Tawheed, the first lessons concern the ways for us to know Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. This is called as 'Awaluddin Ma'rifatullah'.
Learning about Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is not by seeing Allah or in any other ways for Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is definitely far from being similar in any way with His creations.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is without form, not made of matter, does not occupy space or place, neither above, below or anywhere.
To the uninformed, the above attestation would not make sense to him or her for the study of Islam consists of both the realm of matter and that of the unseen world. The world of the Al-Ghaib. The Unseen.
Unseen doesn't mean it's not there. It's just a matter of being able to know that there exists in this Creation, a world that we who are mere mortal human beings can't visualize with our own eyes because we are not created to possess that certain ability. The ability to see what's not visible.
In the Holy Qur'anChapter 51: Verse 56 Surah Adh-Dhariyat (The Winnowing Winds), Allah the Almighty reveals:
Transliteration
Wama khalaqtu al jinna wal-insa illa liya' budoonSahih International
And I did not create the Jinn and Mankind except to worship Me.Now, to all rational human beings who realize that their being is not something by chance but rather coming to be by the express Will and Consent of a Supreme Creator, the above revelation makes total sense to them.
But to the doubters and the agnostics, it doesn't register in their minds for what the blinded heart and clouded mindset fails to comprehend will never pass muster.
In Surah An-Nahl (The Bee) Chapter 16 Verse 36, Allah states :
Transliteration
Walaqad baAAathna fee kulli ommatinrasoolan ani oAAbudoo Allaha wajtaniboo attaghootafaminhum man hada Allahu waminhum man haqqatAAalayhi addalalatu faseeroo fee al-ardifanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatualmukaththibeenSahih International
And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut (all false deities,etc)." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers.Certainly, Allah the Most Merciful wouldn't just create us and let us be without guidance!
To each nation, He has sent a messenger. A prophet. To guide the people on worshiping just Allah Alone.
Certain Disbelievers @ the Catholic Christians here in Malaysia are so adamant in calling their Trinitarian object of worship as Allah when in reality they certainly DO NOT WORSHIP ALLAH THE ONLY SUPREME CREATOR as we who are Muslims do!
In Surah Al-Isra' Chapter 17 Verse 39, Allah warns :
Transliteration
Thalika mimma aw hailayka rabbuka mina al hikmati wala taj AAal maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fatulqa fee jahannama malooman mad hooraSahih International
That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muhammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished.In actuality, these misguided folks do not have the right to claim to be the followers of Eesa Alaihis Salam because they are not the Sons and Daughters of Israel in the first place!
Eesa Alaihis Salam @ Isa ibni Maryam was just a prophet of Allah sent to the People from the Bani Israel but these latter day Disbelievers imagined him to be their God incarnate!
Just for rational thinking, why would Allah will Himself into being born through one of His own creations ~ Siti Maryam?
Only illogical beings would want to believe in such preposterous blasphemies!
Moving back to the subject matter, here is a very informative video sharing about the 20 Attributes of Allah:
In Malay, we know them as the Sifat 20. The 20 Attributes of Allah.
They are:
- Al-Wujud– Exists. Allah the Almighty exists
- Al-Qidam - Without a Beginning. Allah is there before anything else came to be.
- Al-Baqa - Infiniteness. Allahu Ta'ala remains after everything else is no more. Al Baqa means Eternal. Allah will always be.
- Mu’kaa la fa tu hoo ta’alaa lil hawaadithi – He the Exalted being unlike to any of the contigents. He is the Creator, bearing no resemblance to the created.
- Qi yaa mu hoo bi naf sihi– Self subsistent or self existent, without any needs
- Al wah daa niy yah– Oneness. He is unique, without partner, without resemblance, the cause of all
- Al-Qudrah– Power. All power is His
- Al-Iraadah– Free will or choice. All will is His
- Al-Ilm– Knowledge. Allah is All-Knowing
- Al-Hayaah– Life. Allah is Ever-Living
- As Sam’u – Hearing. Allah is All-Hearing
- Al Basar–Sight. Allah is All-Seeing
- Al Kalaam– Speech. The word, all that is taught, is His
- Kau nuhoo ta’alaa Qaadiraa– He the Most Exalted being Most Powerful
- Kau nuhoo ta’’alaa Mureedaa– He the Exalted being free chooser
- Kau nuhoo ta’alaa ’Aalimaa– He the Most Exalted being all-knowing
- Kau nuhoo ta ‘alaa Ghay yaa– He the Most Exalted being Alive
- Kau nuhoo ta ‘alaa Sa mee’aa– He the Most Exalted being All-Hearing
- Kau nuhoo ta ‘alaa Baseeraa– He the Most Exalted being the All-Seeing
- Kau nuhoo ta ‘alaa Mutakallima– He the Most Exalted being All-Speaking
Yet despite all the revelations from Allah the almighty in the form of the recited words conveyed by Archangel Jibreel Alaihi Salam @ Gabriel to the Final and Greatest Messenger of Allah to be shared amongst Mankind, there still continues to be legions of those who can be considered as deaf, dumb and blind to the Truth of Islam and in the Revelations from Allah which are encompassed by the Al Qur'an!
Those of you who have yet to know what is in the Qur'an, just click on to the link here and read the translations in the language you are familiar with! Don't you regret not having grasped the chance for you to learn about your birthright to be able to learn and know about Allah, our Supreme Creator and Lord Almighty Most High.
Do not take for granted this life that Allah has given us. It is He Alone who gives life to us and all the other creations. We will not come to exist if not for the Will and Mercy of Allah.
Study! Ponder upon the wonderful aspects of our life that Allah has chosen to grant us. Only those who are aware of all the intricacies and delicateness of Allah's master designs and creative powers will know how to appreciate all that is before us and even as we come to share all these wondrous information amongst us, there are still zillions of matters that we have yet to know about in the universes.
Remember that Allah Azza Wa Jalla wouldn't have created us if He didn't love us. He has given us all that we need. Eyes to see. Ears to hear with. Mouth to speak with. Tongue to taste with. Nostrils to smell with. Hands and fingers to touch with and feel. Skin to be able to know whether it's warm or cold? Hair to protect our head. Brain to think with. And yet we go about disregarding all these gifts that He has showered upon us. Why are we not grateful to Him? Our God!
He gave us the Children of Adam, His greatest Messenger as His Mercy to all the Universes. Rahmatulil Alamin.
Yet there are many who doubt and insult the Blessed Prophet out of their own stupidity and not knowing to cherish the best of Mankind who came to deliver us from falsehood.
Sahih International
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.May Allah grant us the wisdom and knowledge to seek for the Truth of Al Islam and to be able to separate the chaff from the grain. Be able to realize the Truth from the Falsehood. Be wise enough to distance ourselves from all that leads to the Hellfire and guide us towards His Light.
Ameen O Allah!
