Those with political connections to UMNO could even get away with murder as we all know as to what had happened to the Mongolian model cum translator Altantuya Shaariibuu, Deputy Public Prosecutor Kevin Anthony Morais and Hussain Najadi, one of the Ambank founder.

As we all know, the Malaysian justice system has yet to really punish those who committed these planned murders and the way controversies has plagued the courtroom dramas and the perpetrators are still at large. The top politician said to be the one who ordered the killing of Altantuya Shaariibuu remains free denying having anything to do with her gruesome murder and subsequent exploding of her remains to bits and pieces in a forest area in the Malaysian Peninsular.
The 9th of May 14th Malaysian General Elections came and we saw the toppling of the BN regime throughout the nation save for one or two states which they still control.
The world's worst kleptocrat was caught umpteenth times with millions of ringgits in cash stashed at a couple of his luxury dwellings and hundreds of luxury handbags and expensive jewellery sets and designer watches were seized by the Commercial Crimes Investigation Department of the Royal Malaysian Police BUT ex premier Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor are still enjoying themselves staying out of prison by bailing themselves out of police custody pending trial.
The current new Malaysian Federal Government headed by its now 7th PM Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad had once ruled over this country as its 4th Premier back then heading the BN and as UMNO's longest serving President back then for 22 long years [1981 to 2003].
Following the general public's outcry against Najib Razak's voracious thieving of Malaysia's resources through his 1MDB so called strategic development company which saw Malaysia reeling under a RM 1 Trillion debt owed to foreign corporations under his administration where he was also the Finance Minister, the country's voters decided that they had enough of such blatant thievery and voted for the Opposition Alliance of Hope [Pakatan Harapan] made up of the PKR, DAP, Amanah and PPBM.
Tun Dr. Mahathir was unanimously selected to be the 7th Prime Minister and he had made many promises to us voters that the Rule of Law will prevail in the 'New Malaysia'.
Yet, barely 7 months has passed since the Pakatan Harapan [Alliance of Hope] Government has been in power, we are witnessing a large number of UMNO politicians [most of whom have tainted records] jumping ship and entering PPBM (Mahathir's Party) like rats leaving the sinking UMNO ship!
Amongst these scheming rats is former Malaccan Chief Minister Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik who was once charged with statutory rape of an underaged Malay girl in 1994. Read about it here.

Lim Guan Eng, the Democratic Action Party's Secretary General who went to the defence of the raped Malay girl was charged with publishing false news and sentenced to be incarcerated for 18 months.
Imagine the irony!
Today, Lim Guan Eng is Malaysia's new Finance Minister and how would he feel if Tun Dr. Mahathir accepted Rahim Thamby Chik's application to join the PPBM, one of the ruling coalition parties forming the Pakatan Harapan Malaysian Federal Government?

Malaysian politics is very unpredictable. Each and every person in the photo has been involved in many controversies but as usual, they are Teflon coated.
Charges don't seem to stick in court and these fellows are filthy rich. We have yet to see any major politician who has been accused of having committed serious criminal breach of trust and involved in corruption be found guilty as charged and thrown into jail.
None so far that we can think of.
You can talk about the 1MDB scandal, the Pavilion Residences suitcases full of cash and over 500 luxury branded handbags plus jewellery sets and prime designer watches seized but Najib and Rosmah have yet to be seen handcuffed and forced to wear those orange MACC lockup outfits.
They swaddle in to court in 3 piece suit [Najib] and Rosmah in her pricey outfits alighting from luxury vehicles with tens of bodyguards and police protection. Soon, they exit from court, smiling broadly like nothing's wrong and drive off with their entourage whilst the common thief who had stolen a tin of milk formula would be thrown into the prison with no fuss.
So much for the so called implementation of Tun's 'Rule of Law'.
