When I performed my Umrah & Hajj pilgrimage in 2011, I had the chance to visit the birthplace of Allah's Greatest and Final Messenger to His Entire Creation, the blessed Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam.

The original house as usual had been razed by the Saudis and in its place, they had erected a public library. The Saudis are notorious for demolishing every historical building and ancient structures due to their paranoia about some pilgrims who might be committing deviant acts at those treasured sites and commit khurafat [deviance] against the teachings of Islam.

In their zealousness, they rob us of the once in a lifetime opportunity to see with our own eyes, places where Rasulullah, his Companions and blessed family used to live and establish the Caliphate of Islam.

All such important, historical sites have now been replaced by modern buildings. Saudi Arabia simply fail to realize what we who are from the international countries have yearned to see with our own eyes, those historical sites where Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam and his Companions once lived.

It's not like we, can just go and visit those places as we wish. Unless one is filthy rich and can drop by Makkah and Madina like big shots, as we please.

With the available communication technology, at least, we get to appease our yearning hearts.
